Peter Jackson: Abstract Artist and His Unique Style
About me
I studied art and art history at school in Yorkshire before moving to London in 1982 to work and ‘Come Out’. In 1992 I moved to Wiltshire for work and also became a carer for my partner who had developed MS. He subsequently died in the early 2000s. I continued painting and life drawing throughout my life whilst working as an IT Consultant until I took early retirement.
After I met my husband in 2008 and moved to Newport in South Wales, I worked hard at dealing with my losses and establishing a new life, building a home and I am now able to commit more time to painting and emotional exploration.
Style
My art style is characterized by bold colours and a sense of movement. I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques to create pieces that are unique and expressive. My current favorite tool is an expired credit card, it allows for expressive and expansive strokes enabling the paint to mix and blend on the canvas. My work is influenced by the vibrant colours and textures of nature, as well as the emotions and experiences that we all share. I strive to create pieces that are both visually stunning and emotionally impactful.
I also find a deep satisfaction in life drawing. The process of transferring the form of a body onto the paper in front of you is restfull - forcing the mind to do one thing and blocking all other thoughts.
